Easy Six Pack

One Purchase for an Easy Six Pack

By

There are lots of things that stand in our way and prevent us from getting a six pack normally. Among these things are the fact that its so easy to get bored when working out and to put off doing it. This is particularly true of heading outside to go running, or to do anything else that requires heading out into the cold - which unfortunately caters for the majority of CV. At the same time, working up a sweat is something you often just find you're not in the mood for. The other problem is that a lot of people think they can get an easy six pack simply from doing sit ups over and over again, when of course in reality this will just result in your getting to used to this fairly easy movement, and never really causing the micro tears necessary to build muscle or the calorie burning necessary to lose weight.

Fortunately there is one purchase you can make that will help a lot in getting an easy six pack, and that's a pull up bar. Immediately you might think that this was a purchase more for training your arms than for an easy six pack, but this is a very limited view of the humble pull up bar which is in reality an incredible tool for training almost every muscle group in the body.

Fortunately the pull up bar is also particularly good for the abs, and for an easy six pack there are few better pieces of equipment. First of, there are a lot of exercises you can do with a pull up bar specifically for an easy six pack. Among these are sit ups with your feet pinned down by the pull up bar which you can achieve by resetting the bar to a lower position. Another thing you can use a pull bar for, this time with it at it's normal height, is leg raises. Here you simply hang from the pull up bar by your arms and then raise and lower your legs keeping them extended directly in front of you. This is a great work out in particular for the upper abs which are very hard to train. Another great exercise that's very similar is to bring your knees up in front of your chest in what is called a 'frog kick'. This exercise is a similar way to train the abs, but is much easier for beginners. Try transitioning straight from the leg raises, and then moving on to the frog kicks once you can't do any more.

The great news though is that pull ups can also train your abs and as you have to keep your body straight as you pull up these are a brilliant workout for the entire body. If pull ups become to easy you also have chin ups, 'around the worlds' (which involve moving your body in a circular motion while you have lifted yourself up on the bar) and one armed pull ups. As you get stronger you'll also get heavier and this means that you can never 'out grow' the pull up bar.

Pull up bars are very cheap, and at the same time they have a huge range of different possible training moves. They utilise your bodyweight and attach to your door frame ensuring that you need no additional equipment, and don't need to go outside. At the same time they are fun and challenging and don't take very long to complete. Just three sets of ten pull ups and three sets of ten leg raises every other day will make you start to see rapid results (partly because they train the whole body rather than just the abs). You can even set yourself the rule that you do 10 pull ups every time you pass through the door. If you buy a pull up bar then, and you're strict, it will be on of the best ways to get an easy six pack.
