Upgrading Your Body and Mind With Training and Technology

The Transhuman PlaylistBy Adam Sinicki
A play list that suggest a future of self-made men and women and technological wonder. The music of the future? Open Spotify or iTunes, go somewhere quiet, and listen to this in some headpones while thinking of future transhuman possibilities and a place where your mind is not constrained by the limitations of your brain. Dream in an Open Place - A great one to get started, a peaceful track that suggests drifting off to sleep in the great outdoors under the stars and fades perfectly into... Transhuman Dream - Because at the moment it is just a dream, so here the dream takes an unusual turn and gets all technological on your ass. Dream Machine - Now even your dreams are the result of technology. Which is as it will be... The Futurist - By Robert Downey Junior. Who coincidentally also plays Iron Man... It fits the tone and works because a Transhumanist is by definition a futurist. Aphex Twin - The music which claims to utilise binaural beats to entrain your brain. This ought to get you feeling pretty weirded out if nothing else. Transhumanist - Because it's called Transhumanist basically... Mutation - From Akira. This is one hell of a trippy track. Welcome to the Machine - By Pink Floyed whose instrumentation has always been very trippy and high tech, but if you re-interpret the lyrics then they fit perfectly too. Spider-man Theme - From the recent movies. This is the sound of genetic transformation and sounds both dangerous and inspiring. Optimus - From Transformers. This track is again mystical but also has a sense of awe and technological marvel. Infinite White - From Transformers 2, the same motif but made even more mystical and dramatic. Love Theme from Bladerunner - Future transhuman lovin' Two People - Though not transhuman in theme this suggests the transhuman possibility of being one in mind... Fifth Element - From the film (by Emma Chaplin) this is excellent as not only does it fit the tone perfectly, but the singer is an alien (in the film) who reaches notes a human could not. Is this what Transhuman singing could sound like? Plus it ups the tempo nicely for the following tracks. Driving With the Top Down - From the new Iron Man film. Iron Man is the ultimate Transhuman hero and this tune perfectly captures the feeling of flying in a high-tech suite. It's also a reminder that Transhumanism is cool as the rest of these tracks are slightly intense... Damn Kid - Another cool track from the same track. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - By Kanye West. This one speaks for its self and is kickass. Computer Weekend - By Jean Michele Jarre, whose every track sounds like something from a retro vision of the future. This one is again a bit more fun and full of whirring and strange sounds. Tempus Vernum - Things get a little intense in a track that suggests the apocalypse which we must remember is one possible result of unrestricted transhuman technology. ![]() |
