The Vin Diesel Workout

By

Vin Diesel has always been an action hero who's in rather good shape and this has ensured that people have always been interested in the Vin Diesel workout and how he got into shape for such films as Chronicles of Riddick and XXX. However the Vin Diesel workout has been taken up a notch for his recent film 'Fast Five' where he clearly felt under pressure to try and bulk up to compete with the Rock (who is even bigger as it happens).

However little is known about the Vin Diesel workout and there is not much information on the kind of training he used online. That said, using an article in Men's Health along with some information garnered from interviews and by analysing his body, it is possible to come up with a rough estimation of the Vin Diesel workout, which is what we'll look at here.

Vin Diesel Training

The main thing we know about the Vin Diesel workout is that he uses a lot of compound movements – exercises that involve using lots of the muscles all in one go. These exercises include 'deadlifts', 'squats' and 'bench press' and these will be loaded up for high weight, low rep exercises to stimulate muscle growth and microtears while improving balance and coordination. This will be somewhat akin to high intensity training, which involves hitting the muscles hard and fast with the belief that this triggers the most growth – and looking at Vin's bulky physique it looks as though this is likely how he trains. That in turn means that the Vin Diesel workout would be likely to workout four or five days a week maximum (I'm like the Shirlock Holmes of exercise!).

Another interesting thing about the Vin Diesel workout is that he supplements his resistance training with yoga and pilates. These might not seem like activities for a hard man, but in fact they are a great way to increase flexibility which helps you to get the full range of movement on your workouts. At the same time they help you to strengthen your core which can help to give you the power you need for the compound movements. He also has done some UFC and Brazilian Jujitsu training and throws in regular cardiovascular exercise to burn any excess fat and improve his muscle tone.

Vin Diesel Diet Plan

Lastly, by looking at Vin Diesel's body we can work out something about the Vin Diesel diet plan – which will need to consist of a lot of protein in order to help you repair the muscles you tear during your workouts. While we can't really speculate as to what the Vin Diesel diet plan really includes, there are ways to we can achieve the same results. The easiest way to do this is to use a protein shake and to take this at least twice a day.

And now... you're ready to take on The Rock!

To really get a body like Vin Diesel you'll need a whole lot more training information - so further  'Project Superman' for all the training advice and self improvement you could ever need.
